Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Way Up High) (Year)

Mixed media on canvas and floating frame
76 × 102 cm (108 cm including frame)

This work forms part of a limited-edition collection that explores the themes of Little Boy Hiding in the Big, Bad World through a more traditional canvas format. Marking my first use of colour, a rainbow cuts through the familiar black-and-white cityscape and extends beyond the canvas, onto its floating frame. Inspired by the lyric “Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high”, the work reflects on purpose, aspiration, and the hopes we hold onto while navigating the realities of everyday life.
